An amorphous shield is methodically bent and twisted, slowly mutating according to the viewer’s angle until it becomes its very own entity. A single cut in the ostensibly impermeable surface of the allegorical armour allowed for a complete transformation of the unyielding shape from opaque protection to dynamic exuberance. The outline of the exaggerated arches seemingly questions the ability to stand in perfect balance and harmony within the space it absorbed in its design by embracing the light and darkness trapped within the curves. The mirror finish likewise alters the perception of the piece by deliberately playing with the evanescence of light on its surfaces which constantly mutate as a result without converting fully. MITIGATED METAMORPHOSIS stands as an allegorical work symbolising an irrepressible sense of freedom which inadvertently folds into itself in its hesitation to break free.
